Is now a good time to sell? If you want to put things on hold for the next 12-18 months until the market starts to improve then that is certainly an option.
If on the other hand you want to get on with life and not wait 2-3 years in the hope prices will be much better than now, it is probably a good time to sell.
At present there is something of a shortage of properties on the market and a lot of buyers looking. I had 166 visitors to my open homes in the last 2 months alone and only a few of these have found what they are looking for.
If you wait until spring or summer to go on the market then you may just miss this window of opportunity because seasonally a lot of homes come onto the market in Spring and Summer so buyers will have a lot more choice.
The reserve bank will almost certainly increase the official cash rates and mortgages will go up making it harder for buyers to get finance and suppress sales further.
